2016 VSBA Annual Convention

Following the guidelines and recommendations of the National Institute for Early Education Research, Lancaster County Public Schools is in its fifth year of providing early intervention for at-risk 3-year old children. The locally funded program, with a unique funding model, is providing exciting results in improving school readiness for the highest risk population and making strides in closing the literacy achievement gap for a significant portion of cohorts. We will provide anecdotal and statistical evidence to support early intervention as a means to counter the effects of generational poverty and school-readiness disparity.
