The Academy to Envision Tomorrow’s Schools was comprised of the sixteen Virginia Regional Teachers of the Year (“Fellows”) from 2014 and 2015. The purpose of the Academy was to elicit Fellows’ views about school design features that will most effectively meet students’ needs in tomorrow’s schools. The Academy included a design workshop and research review. The resulting design themes are valuable to those who provide policy guidance about school facilities’ elements affecting learning and teaching. The Academy was a joint effort of Moseley Architects, Virginia Tech, and VDOE.
